The Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Zakho, Dr. Karwan F. Sami, received a delegation from the World Food Programme (WFP) on April 11, 2023.

During the visit, discussions centered around a project in which the University of Zakho participated in an international scientific competition, securing fourth place. The WFP delegation expressed their support for and commitment to adopting the project, which aims to convert food waste into usable energy, thereby reducing pollution and environmental harm. Plans were also discussed to implement the project in the university’s student housing facilities in the near future.
